Looks like a good start.

I have a banana and cannas that I overwintered in the ground by covering them with garbage bags full of leaves..the elephant ears were the perfect addition to the side yard..

Congrats, they will now start growing like a rocket, mine did and everyday I'm in awe of how much they grow over night, I take pictures as they grow also, looking forward to seeing yours grow up LOL

christine..gorgeous tropicals!!..here's a pic of my side yard..there's a banana, 2 cannas and a new potted bird of paradise..the elephant ears are at the end of the path on the left..if you zoom in you can see the elephant ears..when everything is bigger it should feel very tropical!!..

11 stems now..have you had any roots at the surface?..I see some but I'm NOT touching them..should I put a little soil over them?..we've had rain and I've watered and the soil was loose since they were just planted..maybe the soil washed off??

I would add soil on top of them, your probably right about the rain, your leaves are starting to get bigger, looking good !!!

can someone tell me if this is an EE. it was given to me and rooted with root hormone and was easily repotted and it grows well. my issue is that after a couple weeks a leaf falls off? I see trough other threads that's it's tropical if it is an EE so I know now to water more but I would like to clarify if it is what I think?

Here's a couple of pics for you, my banana came back with some TLC, she's doing great. My EE are also doing great, they are lovin the hot humid air, I really love the pattern on the leaves that are now starting to show, what do you think? Are yours showing any pattern?

the pattern on my elephant ears is much more subtle..yours are so pretty!..caught a shadow on my elephant ear just now..looks pretty..my banana has grown..3rd summer for these caladiums..do you have any?..think I would like to get more..some with more color..I love tropical plants..

I love the shadow on your ee, that looks so cool. your banana is really starting to take off too, they just needed some warm temps. I use to have caladiums, I didnt get any this year, I like the white with green edging. If all goes well in October I will have extra ee bulbs when I have to dig them up for winter, I will gladly send some out to you..

So nice of you to offer me ee's!..I have half an acre and have room..send me a message when the time comes if you have extras- thank you..my banana would be bigger but when it started growing this spring I found the stem bent over and broken..had to cut it off..that's why one of my leaves has a cut side..will cut it off eventually but left the leaf to make food for the plant..do you think I could clip it off now?

I would leave it be, it adds character and it wont hurt the plant in any way, some of my leaves have been shredded by the wind and I just leave them, they arent perfect in the tropics LOL...

today's pics..moved the logs..NO doubt where the bulbs were planted now lol..a lot of rain expected this week..next week could be even bigger..

Looking good and healthy, we are expecting some storms this week too, we had one heck of a storm the other night and I thought mine would drown, but they are now putting out more leaves, they LOVE the rain and the awful humidity we are having this summer.

we've had plenty of rain too..this is sweet..my husband has been watering the ees when he thinks they might be dry..he won't admit it but he really likes them!
