Very nice plants you got there Hyn. I think I give my plants too much Nitrogen as a result lot of leave grow and no bud yet. My Indigo Glade from Riona start to bud out. Looking forward to see it in a month. :). How is the rest of your adenium plants doing this last few weeks of rain. Couple of my seedlings rotted.

The rain let up a little bit and mixed with some days of sun, Shang. But it is hurricane season and we are constantly getting late afternoon thunderstorms most every day. If I'm home I'm getting a LOT OF EXERCISE running up and down the deck hauling plants and flats to slip them beneath the eaves when storms threaten. So far I have lost nothing at all to rot but it requires a lot of watchfulness. Anything that looks iffy gets unpotted and checked. I did find some rot that had started but I cut it out, sealed with super glue and repotted and now those two are growing well again.

My variegated 'Star of Top' graft had a lot of trouble loosing leaves to sudden rot but NOTHING wrong with the roots! So I gave it a copper sulphate soil drench, then watered it in with a touch of lime (in case of calcium deficiency because that is what it looked like) and added kelp powder to the Dyna-Gro feeding. Now this week it's suddenly looking better and starting to put out new leaves that aren't yet turning black so I am hopeful that fixed that problem.

So far these are mostly fed by the tiny bit of worn castings and Miracle Grow potting mix in with their perlite and charcoal, but I do use a weak solution of Dyna-Gro with a bit of kelp powder every few waterings. I like to rinse with plain water frequently as well though to wash out fertilizer salts that might otherwise build up. I use well water that slightly acidic with traces of iron so all of my pots have a touch of lime added. I am very much feeling my way as I go since I'm still in my first year of growing adeniums.

They don't look like much compared to other people's collections, but here are most of them out where they get sun for most of the day. All freshly repotted, finally! A few more pots and flats are up on my deck that are requiring dappled shade due to being recently grafted, repotted, germinating, etc.

You are very kind, thank you, Rick. I am hopeful! A lot of the seedlings will get culled (sold or traded) or made into root stocks but if I'm lucky some of them will be stunning and worth keeping. While my seedlings aren't large for their age, I couldn't be more pleased with their branching on a good many of them. I've had a few flowers already on my cheapie Lowes root stock plants but none from my grafted yet so this will be their first flowering for me.

Oh please keep us updated! Can't wait to see how gorgeous they will soon be!

Haha, Marie if only you could see inside of my art studio. I keep about 3,000 gesnerids in that one room (African violets, episcia, primulina, streptocarpus, etc) and that doesn't even include my orchid collection, my coffee and cinnamon trees, my vegetable garden, my adenium... plants are my full time job.

But I'm through most of my repotting (gesneriads get repotted every 4 months though so I'm about due for another round) and am focusing on packing up the house for our move. I've shut down my plant sales for the summer until we have relocated. It is a lot of work but plants, photography, and my art are my full time job.

Thanks for update Patty! I'm glad all your plants are doing great! :) Looking forward to see all the blooms, woo hoo! Only one of mine from Rinoa has buds, the rest are doing good, but kinda slow. It's 110F here in High Desert, my plants are dropping buds, ugh... We don't have rains here. I think last was in April, and next will be probably in October. You guys can send those storms my way :)

You can have our ran, Elena! There's too much of it. I am concerned that moving my plants from outdoors to in may be hard on the flower buds, alas. Even with a dehumidifier in here it's usually in the 60% range so maybe that'll be all right.
