Spring winds

`This is the second year I have noticed this happening so badly. The spring winds are so strong now, they blow the baby fruit from my trees. In particular the minneola and trivet oranges.

Has anyone else had this problem? It's so frustrating to care for the tree all year, have it bloom and set lots of fruit, then the winds blow them off.

Do you normally thin the fruit, or let mother nature do it? The fruit that does remain on the tree will be bigger as a result.

Rich,. The minneola has ONE lonely little fruit left . The few I had last year were very tasty. The trovita has three left. I haven't come up with an idea to protect them from the winds. After all the feeding, watering, mulching, and composting, this makes me crazy. It's such a waste. There has to be an answer!

Forgot:. My pomegranate lost a bunch of newly pollinated fruit, but still has plenty. I covered them with organza drawstring bags to foil the leaf footed bugs. I saw a big one perched one one of the bags the other day. He definitely was giving me the evil eye.
