Please help ID this unusual aroid

last modified: 9 years ago

This plant is in a local nursery without any name (the plant, not the nursery, LOL). Even the owners don't know what it is. They told me that they ordered from a photo and when the plants arrived, they were simply labeled as "Japanese fern". (Raised eyebrow.) I think it is an aroid, but after that, I need help. ("Truer words", right!?)

Plants are small - about 8-10 inches across.

Flowers are small, nondescript, with spathe and spadix.

Close-up of the roots. They look like typical aroid roots - like an anthurium or philodendron.

Do you know what this plant is?

Thanks!
