That means the plant didn't do too well at all times. If flower production and setting would have been continuous, so would have been the harvest. So the plant had some down times, which makes it look like 'flushes'.

I've had cherries that stopped producing during hot, humid weather and then started back up again. Really, it happens to most of my indeterminate plants. I guess it makes it seem like flushes. A few times I was going to pull a plant or 2, then noticed it put out more fruit.

Very healthy plants, and the weather has been hot and humid for a month, but I guess just before the heat and humidity set in, a lot of flowers made fruit. A surprising gap. There will be no new fruit after this. So we're talking about an initial round of heavy fruiting two months ago, followed by a gap, and another found of fruiting a month ago. I don't recall the weather being all that unusual in the last two months.
