@Kathy: depends on the depth of your countertop. ALL refrigerators stick out from a little to a lot depending on what you are wanting. Normal kitchen cabinets are generally 25" deep nowadays but can be less or more depending on the design and how built. Many are built at 24" depth. Counter depth refrigerator will stick out about 4-5" depending on the door handles. A door still has to open so it will be more than 25". To be sure, look up the dimensions of the brand and type (full door, french, side by side). Some counter depth refrigerators are wider than 35" and can be tall.

Example: Kitchen Aid has a 20 cu ft side by side counter depth that is 35 and 1/5" wide, 68 and 7/8" tall and depth is 29 and 3/4". Closed depth including handles is 27 and 1/2". Also check the open depth with doors at 90 deg angle.

Many are 36" wide and 70" tall, so do your research carefully as to what model and brand. And make sure it is roomy enough for what you require.
