Floor dilemma

We just bought a house that needs all new flooring. We are considering the new ceramic wood look flooring. Should we install the same flooring throughout or should the entry and kitchen have something different? We would love Travertine in the kitchen and entry but are afraid it will make it look too choppy. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!

I would use the same tile throughout. It will have a more unified look that will make the space look larger.

if you like the travertine, then do it in the living area too.

Arizona Tile also has a porcelain called NuTravertine. all the looks, none of the hassle of upkeep. comes in many shapes and 3 colors

do it all the same -- kitchen and entry in particular get heavy wear and tear, so tile (rather than porous stone) is a good choice there.

I agree with everyone. I say tear out the carpet, and make the whole space the same tavertine tile. It's a cleaner look!

I agree with everyone else that one type of flooring is best. It will unify the spaces and make the rooms feel larger.
