do your research first, I gave up my membership (after 20+ years) when they closed the their HQ in Delray Beach. I believe the fee is (or was) $60 per year with 2 year minimum... Reciprocity deals are not what they used to be. Buyer beware and each gardens website has their list of reciprocity agreements with other gardens/zoo's etc.. best to investigate before you invest...

I joined recently and find it worth the cost. I like watching the webenars they have archived on the site and I also like the magazine. The list of places where you will get a discount seems to be a bit elusive. I have yet to find a list of places that offer free or discounted admission just that there are 300 of them. There are also some vendors that offer a discount but I don't see a list of those either. In fairness I haven't tried to use those benefits so I haven't really tried to seek them out yet. It's possible that the list changes enough that they don't have it on the web site. You might need to call for the list.

Membership is $65 per year, with no minimum time set anymore. $5 discount if you sign for two years. I do enjoy the magazines and have gotten discounts from two sellers-one local here and another online ( I believe it was Sunset Valley Orchids). Think I'll write AOS and get a list of the botanical gardens, didn't know they offered it when I renewed this year. That would make membership worthwhile to me, in addition to the magazines as the garden tickets are a little pricey. AOS website could use some help for sure though...

I've been a member for many years. I enjoy the magazine and their website. Lots of info for members. As James wrote, their webinars are very good and I sign up for all of them. I like that I can refer back to them if need be.

I feel the $65.00 a year is worth every penny.
