The Razor's Edge has red petioles, and the leaf backs are white. Take comparison pics of them both from underneath.

I agree, The Razor's Edge is going to be wide. I bought just a wisp of a plant with almost no roots and it two years its 2 feet across. I also have Red Stilts which had a similar look when it was new, I was kicking myself for buying look-alikes in the same year. However now I can see that Red Stilts is smaller and more of a fountain habit. Oh yeah pictures - be right back.

TRE gets rather tall as well, mine is just over 18 inches. It's fairly upright, which shows off the red petioles very nicely. Slightly thuggish, though, I had to move the hostas on either side to a less competitive area before they were completely overwhelmed.

These hostas made me think of my Electrocution (only from the leaf shape aspect) and Curly Fries and I realized that having a few of these in the garden really adds a bit of an edge ... just as having a Praying Hands does. But I do agree, Hostanista, that there are just too many hostas out there in the market that at first glance, look almost identical.

As Eleven pointed out, the differences are not entirely visible at first glance - it's the additional details and nuances that differentiate them from one another. Is it any wonder there are thousands of cultivars???

The thing that has slowed down my accumulation fever is too much similarity in newer emerging cultivars - but it will always pique my interest what the breeders will come up with next. Nice pictures!

dhaven I don't know why Lizard Lick is listed as a small. Mine certainly isn't , in fact it's larger that The Razor's Edge (same age). Thanks for your 2 cents everyone!
