For sure add a rug, a rug just makes everything come together! Push all the furniture closer together so that it makes more of a "cozy" feel! Also I would get rid of the coffee table you have now and add a big flat wooden one. This would definitely utilize the space more! Also you should go to Home Goods and find some fun pillows to go with your couches! Add shelves to the walls or add a big bookshelf where you can put trinkets in! Above the fire place you should add a TV as well. Hope this helps!

In the interim, a barrel shaped chair to left of fireplace and closer to the sofa would pull the group together, a rug for sure, move the white stool from window to right of fireplace, get an upholstered bench the width of window for under window, get a rectangular coffee table, larger art above sofa or a diptych of two squares will anchor the sofa and space along the wall. Can the current table be a side table between the sofa and white chair? What is the dime soon of the table?
