And here's my Keiki failure, all those looked pretty good last fall, had a tiny leaves but refused to do anything this spring. I don't know if I should apply more paste or just cut those ugly bumps off?

Rinoa's "Lotus" is sooooo beautiful. Please keep me in mind if you ever have seeds. Your "KO_Superstar of Tomorrow" is exactly as the bloom pictured on the KO website! I am so happy to see it came true to the parent ... I have a few seedlings growing. I believe your "Crimson" one is "Crimson Star." That white and pink you find boring, I find beautiful. I hope one day I get something like that.

And YES, Roger's blooms are to die for. I love the way the white blends into the red, as if illuminated & velvety. That is definitely a keeper. I have 4 of the same one and just pruned the last one this morning. Hopefully, we'll soon see a flurry of more gorgeous blooms. THANK YOU, ROGER!!

Oh Roger, I would love seeds for that double if you can spare any, please! I thought that was the flower I had but it isn't. My Roger bloom is similar, but it isn't a double.

Hi Maria if I remember that bunch of seeds were out of a double flower but not this one same old thing more singles than doubles . That same plant that you have seeds of has 3 pods on it again one is crossed with a purple one with with a triple white one with with a almost black will let you know when they open

Gorgeous flowers, Elena! So sorry to hear about your funky weather. Mine's very hot which is normal for us, but instead of hard core drought this year we have Noah's Arc of rain that never ends! One tropical storm after another. I simply gave up and moved my adeniums back indoors and put them under lights for now. My mini greenhouse finally arrived though so my son and I will put it together and test it out this week. Keep up your efforts! You have some beautiful adeniums there!

Maria Elena sorry to disappoint you, my Super Star of Tomorrow is not Mr Ko's seedling, it's a grafted plant from Rinoa. It did look like a stick when I got it, but after applying Keiki paste it gave me three nice branches and seems like this plant is loving to bloom despite the heat . It has a lot of buds. Second flower is much darker than first one, I absolutely love it:)

Wow Patty, weather is really insane this year isn't it? Sorry you have to bring your plants inside at summer... I was thinking about bringing mine in too, but with watering twice a day they are hanging in there. Good thing I didn't start any seeds this year, they would definitely have be inside.

KO & Rinoa worked together for many years then spit by location. They carry a lot of the same product and I'm pretty sure they still work together on some level. I believe your SST scion is from the same KO seed ... just grafted onto different root stock. It's the same flower with the same name, right?

Whatever the case, it's beautiful and I hope I get one true to parent. I have 4 from seed ... Had 6 but nesting finches stole 2 right out of their propagation tray!

I have to admit, I'm lusting a bit here after your Super Star of Tomorrow Elena. I may have to order that one as a graft but I do have Rinoa seed of Kiseki (lots of them) growing so I am hopeful of getting something similar. I wish I had watered my seedlings more over winter though because I feel like they lost several months growth and are far behind where they could be this year. I probably won't see any flowers on them until next summer.

Ah well, we learn as we go and at least I didn't kill them off with over watering! ;)

Our rain is FINALLY letting up today for a little bit. I moved the adeniums out yesterday so they could get poured on as they were getting dry. Flower buds still look good and now the sun is out. I'll probably have to move them into shade shortly so they don't get too much sun today after all the weeks of rain. Otherwise I'll have a lot of sunburn leaves.

It will be sad though if I have to destroy my best grafted plants due to mosaic virus. Bye bye purples. ;(

Oh, no! Any idea how your purples got CMV, Hyn? Did you receive it that way or did it spread from another plant? Do you have mottled leaves and blooms? If you've already started a thread on this, please direct me to that link.

I don't know for sure yet if it's CMV or TMV, etc. But the brand new leaves on the recently arrived grafts from Adenium Center look to be infected. Only two of the four have leafed out so far, the other two are just starting to do so now.

I'm going to get them tested this week after I speak with my local ag office. Obviously if they test positive I'll have to destroy the plants but I may send scions to attempt micropropagation by meristem tissue culture. Which has a high rate of being virus free but isn't a guarantee and could be costly.

At any rate, I am disappointed and started a thread elsewhere about it with photos of the leaves. You can't pass a USDA inspection and licensing with plants showing virus and they could destroy ALL of my stock, everything, if I don't deal with it early. I wouldn't want to pass on plants I had grafted if they are infected anyway.

If they are infected and the test results throw a positive, I'll destroy the plants and contact Adenium Center about a refund (including my shipping, shame on them!) but I understand a lot of Asian growers don't care about virus. It's a serious issue however that causes more than /$30 billion dollars/ in agricultural crop damage alone every year. Virus in my plants could easily spread in my area to infect crops or natives.

Exactly ... Unbelievable! I applaud you for being responsible & conscientious enough to test & follow through. Please keep us posted. In the meantime, I'll search for your thread.

I try. I am working towards opening a full on greenhouse business after we move so if I do go through with that I'm trying to do my research. I've worked in greenhouses off and on for years but there is always more to learn! Otherwise I'm a hobby grower and I sell on Etsy but I still want safe, healthy plants and no risk of my collection having to be destroyed.
