Funky Things with my Gessies

It's rather warm in my art studio growing space this time of the year. 90's outside when it's not nearly constantly pounding us with tropical storms, and lower 80's inside even with my AC running. This causes some of my streptocarpus to throw lots of extra flower petals.

Here is 'Bristol's Waterbug' doing it's thing, which it does every summer. Stunning, covered with lots of flowers at once all doing this extra petal thing! But come autumn when it cools off, they'll revert back to normal. My 'Salmon Sunset' is also doing the extra petal thing as well as a few others right now.

And here is sinningia 'Amanda's Penny' with the flower now fallen off and a seed pod forming. I can't decide if it looks more like Big Bird or Horten Hears a Who?! ;)

And lastly, one of my hybrid crosses - this is a seedling opening up a first flower. The mother is streptocarpus 'DS Africa' and the father is 'Moscow Lady' and I am hoping for a huge, velvety dark flower with lighter lower petals with netting. It looks like I /might/ get it ... the anticipation is like staring at Christmas Gifts you aren't allowed to open yet.
