They are growing new leaves, will they still produce tomatoes?

Probably everything will be fine if the tomato monster doesn't come back. Not many pests eat new tomato plant foliage. It's probably a caterpillar. Tobacco hornworms could do something like that, but you'd likely have seen one. Knowing absolutely nothing (pics!) about your personal situation or location, on a Friday evening, I'm gonna say you may have Armyworms. They tend to hide in the day.

If there are deer around, though, Bambi did it (not the armyworms)!

As long as it's not a determinate variety that lost its growing tip, things should be fine. That's why I asked about the variety and wanted a photo.

Thanks for the input! The main critter problem I have is mice/rats. They don't appear to have any insect damage. They are Heirloom Stupice & Super Bush container varities from Renee's Garden. My camera isn't working, so I can't post pics. It says that the super bush are determinate, don't know about the Stupice.

Stupice is a compact indeterminate. Your determinate plant may or may not have production problems if it's lost its main growing point. It depends whether it's really a determinate or if it's a "semi-determinate" and how large it was when it got the top bitten off.

That really doesn't sound like rodents. I'm still at deer. Stupice will be fine if protected, as mentioned already, as for the Super Bush, you'll lose some production, but hopefully the plant is young enough to recover. Put some fencing around the plants to avoid a second attack wave, if you can.
