With the Xeripave Super Pervious Pavers seen here you would need to put them on a clean crushed rock base that is typically 4" - 6" in depth to give space for the water to collect during a rainstorm before it absorbs into the subsoil. If your soil is more clay based, you may want to go a little deeper than that. Use a 3/4" clean crushed rock for the base, lay down a sheet of filter fabric, then do your top layer in 1/2" clean crushed rock. Make sure that is all very well compacted, then lay your Xeripavers on top and compact again using a piece of plywood between the compactor and the pavers.
