cut out all the damaged pieces.. which would include the brown parts .. you will probably find the damage if you look close enough ...

yes.. it will recover.. in shrub time ... i would guess.. 3 to 5 years ... surely not in a few weeks.. or by the end of this season ... you see how much its grown since spring.. so just multiply that out to the 18 to 24 inches you need to fill ...

since i presume the walkway from the door goes to the driveway.. how the heck did they get the bush \farthest from the driveway ... crikey ...

since its right out the door of your castle... i would probably just be done with it.. as it would irritate me every time oi went by it ... since you already have 2 others.. how about something different????

Ken, our house is on a pipestem, which has a downhill slope. The car was supposed to park along pipestem before our house but failed to stop and went down towards our front yard. I agree, I don't like to see this in front of my house everyday so I probably will have to remove it, which will leave a gap. I have no idea what to do with that space. Ideally, I would like to remove the other two to re-design the front yard. Didn't include this in my 2017 budget, though.

draw up a 3 or 5 year plan ... and start working on it ... it only cost a lot of money.. if you do it all at once ... but if you think of it as a collection .. which you add things as time and budget allow ... in 3 years.. you could have a nice scape ...

now thru fall .... is a good time to find sale prices on plants ... and you hold them over for fall planting if you are in a hot location ...

Get a big boulder, it protects you and you will get a big laugh, the bigger the boulder the bigger the laugh :-)

Cut off all brown/damaged parts now, then in the fall dig it up, rotate it 180 degrees or so (so the 'good' part is now facing someone walking up your walk). Then wait a few years for the 'bad' part to fill back in. (That's what I'd do, but I'm pretty lazy.) Or go to a garden store and buy another one (bring a branch - looks like a common yew, but if its decades old might be hard to match). Or you could (in the fall) transplant the first one to the position where a shrub was damaged, then plant something else (something different, like an azalea that stays similar height as the existing yew) where the 1st yew was - to keep the symmetry.

Perhaps you have another one in another part of the yard you can transplant (or swap) with the damaged one?
