Poa Trivialis Source

Hi guys.

Had some problems with P Triv that looks mostly under control now. (Got it early with Tenacity)

I would like to overseed one more time this fall with the Scotts Bluegrass mix. I used the Scotts mix last fall as well.

My question for you guys...do you think that's how I introduced Triv into my lawn? Should I start looking online for some elite seed?

Poa triv is everywhere. If it's not still around your lawn, I'm sure your neighbors have it. Not sure it is possible to be triv free but the minute you start seeing it take hold, keep doing what you're doing with the Tenacity and try to extinguish it before it forms large patches.

:/ I've had pretty limited success with Tenacity and Poa Triv. I have an app down right now and the triv likes it the least, but it always bounces back. Basically, I'm using the tenacity to bleach/ locate it so I can take the super targeted approach of the tiny paintbrush and 40% Gly on some of the of the leaves.

I look at it more that I'm delaying the inevitable...a Poa Triv lawn. I think it is evident I have improved varieties probably hydroseeded in.

I hear you hyacin. I have had mixed results from spring. Some still alive. Other areas, with no sign of it anymore. That is certainly better than no treatments where it probably would be bigger and spread out further. Still hoping PoaCure can be affordable once it hits market.

This is the first season I have really noticed it...Tenacity seemed to REALLY weaken it, but looks like a few blades are bouncing back.

I am hoping the summer die off and thickening of KBG in the fall helps out compete...I just don't want to add to the problem with crappy seed.

And cannot wait for that PoaCure..

Re: PoaCure. Ive heard $1k per treated acre being the target price. Maybe thats not so stratospheric if your lawn is much smaller than an acre and could make it last several years.

Wonder if it'll be like Tenacity and sold in the smaller quantity?

That would be awesome. I would have no problem shelling out $250 for a residential lawn sized bottle that I could buy and use every 3 years, let's say.

Anybody used velocity? Possibly injuring my CRF makes me sad, but it might be best to just nuke it all out and go 100% rye like my backyard.
