We put a durable paint and clear coat on the handles. However, harsh sun and rain can eventually deteriorate painted products. However, if it is not exposed directly to the elements, it should be fine.

Your welcome. As example, would personally put them on our own garage door, because it has an overhang and not likely to get wet continually.

Does the reverse side have a finger grip to slide?
