As an indoor only grower, I'd love to see Tracy's and Martin's setups. Mine is quite amateur and I'm looking to upgrade in the next few years for more serious growing.

I have a few LED fixtures that are 19 watts each. It's enough light to put some color on succulents - Crassula, Faucaria, Euphorbia, Lithops, Sedum, Haworthia - a few inches away, but I'm not sure how that would translate to seed germination. Some online reviewers said they were successful with germination using the same lights, but I don't have firsthand experience. Just sowed my first batch of Adenium seeds last night and have them under the LED, so hopefully it's enough.

As an aside, I have a few Adenium under 24 watt T5HO bulbs, which are powerful enough to open blooms, but again not sure how that would translate to germination. I'm brand new to Adenium and still figuring a lot of things out.

Peter, have you considered doing some math to figure out how closely the 1,000 watts approximates full sun within the confines of your tent? I know sun isn't measured in watts, but I'm sure there's a formula that would give you an idea upfront how powerful the light will be with regard to your plants. Otherwise, maybe experimentation will be your best bet :)

I can't really recommend a particular "1000w LED unit" simply based on wattage. IRL, does your unit actually draw 1000w or just half of it?

Personally, I use Mars Hydro Reflector units (5w LEDs) and the light emitted is without any doubt quite intense (if I recall correctly, they are 240w units). They are great for seedling growth as long as I don't put them too close to the units (the distance to the units is around 30 inches). Some seedlings will thrive at closer distances, others won't.
