I've read the blogs pretty extensively now and am trying to come up with a plan to save it. I'm not sure what is wrong with my plant, but it's just getting worse. Here's the story - please help!

I bought the plant about 2 months ago and placed it in a new pot of roughly the same size pot it came it with some potting soil. I watered the plant 8oz of water about once a week. Around 2 weeks ago I noticed leaves starting to develop patches of black dots, crispy edges, and some started to fall off (primarily at the bottom of the plant). At that time I began doing some more research and decided to flush the soil with a lot of water - watering about 8-16 ounces at a time and pausing until water started to flush out the bottom of the pot. I went to the nursery where I bought it and the gardener there thought it was likely overwatering - so, I haven't watered it since. It has lost about 10 leaves in total since I bought it and at this point the edges are getting worse. I checked the soil with a wooden stake and it's hardly got any moisture yet, so I'm thinking it's about time to water again, but I'm understandably nervous.

Here's all the ideas I have.

1. Move it? Could it not be getting enough light? It is getting indirect light from two windows right now (one has light coming from the NE and the other SE) --- and I live in Texas and it's June, so there is light all day long. I'm hesitant to think this is the case. Of note - the windows are new energy efficient ones, so maybe it does need more light?

2. Fungus or disease? Should I get some neem oil and apply once a week? I don't think it's a fungus but don't want to overlook it at as possibility.

3. Repot? I'm afraid all the leaves will fall off if I flip this bad boy and repot it properly. It's already late June, so I can't really wait any longer if I'm going to repot and may have missed the window altogether for this year.

4. Fertilizer - I'm planning on buying some foliage pro 9-3-6 and using this when I water next.

5. Soil? Do I need to consider putting rocks at the bottom to ensure there is ample drainage or try a different type of soil?
