A quick google search provides, unsurprisingly, contradicting answers... however the more official looking website responses tend to say yes, mice and other rodents (most notably rats) do consume worms (along with a large host of other creeping, crawling things). It would seem obvious to me that the mouse is attracted to a moist, cozy warm and apparently safe nesting site complete with an amazing aroma... add to that, the proximity to all the decomposing foodstuffs that make snacking inevitable... sorta like me moving into a wal-mart... bedding is on isle 13 with chips and soda down in isle 7. Any wild rodent would be stupid for NOT moving in and taking advantage of all those "creature" comforts... heck, worms are just icing on the cake.

Its the reason I keep the lids on my outside worm bins. If nothing else the mice will breed into much larger numbers and your house may be next.

The bin I'm referring to is 2' x 2' x 4' high made of black plastic. It's a very common type around here. It does have a lid that I always keep in place but I think the mice are squeezing in where the top overlaps the sides. Think I might attach some wood to the sides just below the lid to block any access.

If it's mice, might want to make it metal or something they can't chew. Maybe hardware cloth?

Think I might just try a 25" x 25" piece of welded wire mesh bent over the top of the bin just under the lid. I even tried a mouse-trap inside the bin but when i checked it the next morning the trap had been sprung and cheese was gone but no sign of the intruder - little buggers!

I just bought 50 wiggle worms! dumped them in the made up of card board worm casting top soil and banana peals and lettuse and spinch and sprayed the top to moisen it all and put cover in it! The next day moisened a bit more did not look inside! today I opened the lid and moisened again but did not see anything moving other than a few nats! I sifted through this mixture three times and could not find one worm! help what happen to the worns
