Hi,

I am nearly done with a large kitchen addition off the back of my single story ranch. We tore off the old deck and replaced it with a new smaller deck using South American hardwood, and it is beautiful. Now I need to come up with a design to replace the side porch, which is the main entrance to the house. This does not need to be very big but i would like it to have a similar look to the new back deck.

Additionally, I would like to add a new porch to the front of the house. The pitch of the roof is fairly slight and so doing much to the roofline isn't an option. I had been thinking of adding a simple platform like the one that is there but just bigger with steps that extend from all three sides.

I would love to get some feedback from others who have more vision that I for this kind of thing. Thanks in advance for your help and comments!
