South Dakota is beautiful. It will be a different kind of beauty. You'll look on the mountains, the rock formations. You can create the most wonderful rock gardens. Instead of lush layers of foliage and green--think fairy gardens. You'll get to dip your toe into designing because instead of plants taking over like laundry on a clothesline...you'll be able to put down stepping stones, plant in containers. There are lots of perennials and of course the annuals. You'll need to amend the soil. You'll also have a real appreciation for what grows and thrives. Enjoy the whisper of the wind through the pines. (That's a real thing, you know.) Enjoy fireplaces, the glow of embers. Love those fields of waving amber grain just like the song. You are close to waterfalls, streams, scenery you otherwise see on calendars. Enjoy!
