Beautiful hostas. Valley's plants aren't easy to find here, hope Perfect Flow shows up some day. Enjoy you new treasures. The only one I have is Paparazzi. It didn't look like much at first, but is turning into a nice looking plant.

Have never seen such a huge box! Karin, I think you have the monopoly on the Valley collection of hostas. First Bite caught my eye the most also. I think you have acquired a most interesting array of hostas this year and it's a lot of fun to be part of your shopping adventure. Thanks for the early peek at your new beauties.

whitewatervol, I'm at around 250 now and that's what the garden can stomach at the moment. I can dig out some older ones which I have 2 or 3 off, but then...? I decided a while ago that I will focus on Valley's and this parcel is proof that this is going to be good.

I will also sort out some that I will give to my daughter in law, now that they returned from their long stay in Kentucky and help her polish up the poor neglected garden a little. It is hard to tent two gardens at a time and so we were only able to do lawn mowing and a little bit of weeding, but had only water from the rain, so not much spring planting was possible.

Jo, I think that's the end to the big adventure until construction on the neighbour's site is finished. They start in January and I don't want to spend money on a small shade hall until everything is settled. Also my landlord said that some trees will be cut down to half their size, so a lot of ifs for the next year.

But for now I'm happy with all the wonderful plants I was able to buy. It is time for taking pictures and documenting all the new ones and simply leaning back and enjoying (with the pot of coffee in hand)...

I read here that end of July is a good time for dividing hostas, so I will give Ken's advice about dividing a big hosta a try and take the knife to my Blue Angel. My heart is bleeding, but it must be done...

nicholsworth, that First Bite is definitely an eye catcher! There had been small departments of carton in the box for every root system and everything was cushioned, a sign that Jeroen does love his plants:-) I needed one hour to unpack them, the roots were protected with multiple layers of moisture keeping stuff. He must have invested a lot of time in packing this one...

I was going to just stick with relocating hostas that weren't very happy with their location this season. You've made that shopping for new hostas feeling come back.

Potted...Perfect conditions in the garden...moderate temperature and lots of light rain...you can watch the hostas grow...

Congratulaions! Real jewels! I am a fan of Valley's hostas and try to get everything possible. Reminds hunting! (My V. Paparazzy looks another way....strange)

Maria, you are right, the Valley's Paparazzi from Jeroen looks different than the one I got in spring from Van den Top...

Where are you living?

Karin, I live in St. Peterburg, 4a zone. My V. Paparazzy is small, 5-6 leafes, and shows form of the "star" ,with strong vertical petiols.

Is you plant a young one? A lot of my hostas showed the form of a star when I got them very young and looked totally different in the next year, for example here one eye of Lakeside Lollipop...

No Dave, they were not on his list, but he gives them as gift hostas, labelled with TC. I think the list is more for specials. He told me he would soon send another one...He did not send Toss the Boss, because he said it is too damaged by frost and I will get this one in September. And I added (as was to be predicted) Blue Chute and Bossanova...

Today the sun is out again and the rain during the last days made everything brim with life :-)

Dave, lol, a clinic for hostaholics? I think that would only lead to more hostas...shared knowledge and enablers all around you :-) No rehab needed if you have a beautiful sea of hostas :-)

It's senseless to try to resist as long as there is room for one more hosta...

I will get some more Valley's from another collector in Belgium in fall and Renaat is also keeping some for me...after this parcel there is no help but collecting Valley's. I will relocate some others to my friend's and daughter in law's garden, it's the only probable solution to this dilemma at the moment. Destruction and rebuilding on the neighbours' site starts in January, so I will have to see what next year brings for the hostagarden...

Wow, thanks for sharing. I love looking at the Hosta on his site and dreaming of the day they become available here. I bought Valley's Lemon Squash this year (from TC), but will have to wait for it to grow up. I'm hoping I can get a Valley's Magnum before I run out of room for it. Great seeing your new beauties. Keep us posted as they get bigger.

Just got Valley's Lemon Squash last month. Wish we had more available here in the U.S. but I understand that there are a lot of issues trying to export plants to another country. Naylor Creek and In the Country Garden have Paparazzi and a few more.

you will have fun with Lemon Squash. I also got one in spring and it already shows good growth and the color is nice.

Love, love, love the blue of Little Blue Penguin. I think that all of his plants are very interesting. Just wish more were available here.
