The simplest and best spray to use to control Aphids is simply plain water in a spray bottle.. You knock the wee buggers off the plant and they die before they can find their way back. Since Aphids reproduce abundantly some people that know no better think those knocked off the plant return. They do not but the next generation will move in so you repeat.

If the "soap" used in your mix is Dawn it is not a soap and is not acceptable to an organic grower. The manufacturer does not call the product either a soap or a detergent but refers to it as a dish washing liquid and it is made from petroleum by products. That may be why the leaves are falling off your plant.
