Need help making this flow better

This is my living room. It's fairly small for the furniture I have, and both couches recline. I'm looking to help make this space flow better. I do have a coffee table and 2 end tables, but so far I haven't found a way to make it all fit without being cluttered.

Behind the shades is a sliding glass door to the back patio, and the door is on the right and opens to the left.

The image with the ladder, well that ladder is basically in the dining area where I have the dining table. I'd like to leave that untouched, as it's where I have a ceiling light/fan combo.

I'm not opposed to new furniture suggestions, but I'd rather avoid that, as the furniture you see is less than 3 years old.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

I noticed one image was a duplicate. Here's the one it was supposed to be.

If it's possible to move the TV, move it to the staircase wall, move the 3 - seater against the patio wall leaving enough room for walkway. Move the other couch to the painted wall (L-shaped arrangement). If nothing, this should atleast open up the space you have.

Take a picture of the whole space. I would move the furniture in the other direction from what I can see but a better picture would help. What is by the ladder?

I've considered that, but 2 things. One is the vent near the shades. I'm hesitant to cover that up. The other concern is the true size near the stairs.

You'll see in the photo attached, that there's this arc'd floor. That arc is a step down into the living space, about 4" or so. The distance from the end of the rail to the wall is about 3'-6" to 4'-0" and I could theoretically fit the entertainment center there, but that's a bad viewing angle for the couch on the adjacent wall.

Even if I try rearranging the furniture with the entertainment center near the stairs, then I'm pushing the couch closer to the kitchen. So there's a picture showing that perspective.

Hopefully the attached pictures show more. Also, there's one that's a to-scale floor plan with the furniture I have.

Could you give the dimensions of the room? Also, I was talking about leaving enough room behind the sofa, so teh vent won't be covered.

    Is this better?

Could you also give the dimensions of the sofas?

Ok here's more dimensions. Not only sofas, but ideally tables as well. If those don't fit though, it's not the end of the world. I more concerned about the furniture.

I think the furniture doesn't work in the room. How about selling the sofa and get an accent chair/table by the steps and put the loveseat where you have the sofa now?

Have you tried a small dining table against the long wall of the room, right as you step down? I think I would

I was just thinking like RT022560...switch the LR and DR. Put the TV on the dining room wall and the dining table by the stiar wall? Then, you can float the sofa toward the tv?

Oops- it sent before I finished- anyway, here is a quick sketch- would this work for you? I'm just not so sure the table needs to be where you have it in the picture.....

Space is tight.. Try turning the dining table 90degrees, and 2 chairs together on both sides. Keep the longer sofa against the patio wall and the smaller on the opposite side of the painted wall with the back facing the dining as in the rough sketch.

You can use one end table at the corner between the 2 sofas and the coffee table. You prabably have to use the second end table else where...

I would put one couch/sofa on the wall where the patio door is, and the other couch against the grey wall, so in an L shape. I would move the tv cupboard down by the stairs, and fill in the "arc" space behind it with large potted plants, as a backdrop (coming down the stairs, the plants hide the back of the tv/cables, etc, looking at it from the patio door end, the plants would form a nice backdrop, and effectively fill in the dead/wasted space. this would open up the entire area, and even allow for a coffee table.

Also, don't know what you have on the dining area, you can probably move one of the chairs from the area to the living in the corner with your second end table next to it - just a thought...

I now you said you want to keep dining table near the ceiling light/fan, BUT have you tried moving the table down in the stair/arc space? I think you would have far better life-flow-dining is closer to kitchen area, and would give you much more option to arrange your lounge across the entire width of the room? like the sketch from rt022569 and I think you definitely need a round dining table. Where do you spend more time-at the table or in the lounge part? I think you are going to have to make a decision on priorities...do you want best tv viewing angle? dining table under fan? keep this furniture? Because honestly, I think that with your current furnityer,m there is no way you will achieve all those things. There is going to have to be a compromise somewhere. :(

Maybe one of the recessed lights near the curved step down could be changed to a small chandelier for over the table? It really is the best place for the table. In the other area, under the fan, you have to step down and walk around the other side of the bar area.
