I don't see why not, you don't have much in the way of color going on, and if cranberry pleases you then that's what matters. I'll do a little virtual shopping and see what I come up with for a chandelier.

I found a few chandeliers in the colonial style in bronze finish from lampsplus.com. I have ordered from them before and was very pleased with the quality and price. I would not put anything very fancy, simplicity is key in a colonial style setting, as most of the era were hand-forged, and anything ornate was reserved for formal drawing rooms and ballrooms. The examples I've picked out are all in the $200 range. Also since it it looks like a 48" table, a 3 or 4 light fixture should be large enough, hung so the bottom of the fixture is about 30" above the tabletop.

Vixon, do you have a window above the sink? If so, you could put a Roman shade there in a cranberry based print, and repeat with a faux Roman shade valance over your plantation shutters. How about a 8-foot round braided rug under the table? You could make it multicolored in the colors of the fabric of the valance, then your solid seat cushions and rug in the kitchen would coordinate.

The braided rug will give a Country french feel to your kitchen and I would go for that. Country french is casual yet
has a classic feel. The rooster tile fabric above would be wonderful that Nancy posted. The light fixture on the top right to a dressier one would also be lovely. I think that just adding a frame of curtain panels on your shuttered windows would really give a finished look and add some decor there at the windows since they is little room for art work. I could see painting the base and even the chairs all black and leave the top wood. I love your floors and cabinets. Color will bring the whole room to life and set off what you have already in the room.

They now have indoor outdoor braided rugs that wear very well and can be hosed down to save high cost of having them cleaned.

I have the shutters over sink area also as we are facing west and get heat in afternoon...I just love this site and the helpful advice..do not like cluttered sink area but know I need color. Think fruit ceramic is not large enough. Hoping white fridge will get replaced.. Color by stove top?

Need color. With the Chandler it is better to over scale then under scale it (make a statement) and do not hang to high.
