I usually don't make decisions about which tomato varieties I am trialing until the season is close to over, but every once in a while I run across a variety that just stands out above the rest so much that I know right away that it is a keeper. And Prudens Purple is such a tomato... at least in my garden, in my climate, this year. Nice size, nice color, nice growth habit, and of course, that tomato flavor that just stands out above most others.

I know other people here grow it, because I decided to grow it after reading about it here this late winter. Am I just over reacting, or is this tomato as good as mine seem to be?
