Here are some of my babies waiting to be pot up. Two of them already have seed pods.A black seedling. I stupidly mixed up all my labels so don't know who is who any more. A variegated seedling I found at Bunnings
My succulent / cacti garden with Adeniums, Pachypodiums lamerei and saundersii.Why does this keep happening to me!! Every time this guy gets close to opening its bud the tip turns brown and dries out. Unless I pick at it it will not open.Another seedling with flower budThis one hopefully will open by tomorrowMy Pachypodium LamereiTiny little flower buds, they have mostly been dropping off at this size before they get a chance to grow. I've started feeding a watered down all round fertiliser and will see if I get any better results.

Nice selection of plants Ben very envious don't worry about the one's in the ground they will come around bit of slow release fertilizer, Rachel uses liquid fertilizer she loves and gets really good results i probably wouldn't put your baby's in any bigger pots wait a little bit longer thats only what I would do but its personal choice good luck

Good advice Peter will probably get a good flowering fert one that turns pinks into other colours! Haha

Nice selection! Yes, if you can get a good purple grafted, then you are set. Most all of the others you can get from seed but purples are the hardest. In time with line breeding those percentages will improve but for now they are very hit and miss. Good start! As both of my purples have mosaic virus I'm going to need to shop around to replace them myself or just wait and see if I get any purples from my seedlings. The hunt continues! Yes Carol it looks like a swazicum obesumhybrid. They are aparently sterile and extremely dificult to set. But they have some crazy looking flower combinations.

This is the closest to purple I've found for sale what do you think? I like the lace texture on the petals. Also found this one it is the same flower in different stages of maturity both are from sandysadeniums

It seems as though you are my competition for a purple dr Patty! It has truly been a mission trying to locate any available purple!

I bought some stunning grafted purples from Adenium Center that should have been outstanding. Alas that they were carrying virus. I have them sealed up in an enclosed quarantine unit and maybe I can at least get flowers to cross pollinate before I destroy them. Still waiting on lab results to try and nail down if it's CMV, TMV, TSWV, or something else. If I got seeds though, there would be a low rate of only about 10% chance of getting purple flowering babies. And there is no guarantee that the seeds won't get virus from the mother plant, alas. So I would have to keep them separate and test some of them as well if anything looks fishy, but it may still be worth trying.

Hi Ben nice to talk to a local Adenium lover I live at Tweed Heads. Your plants are amazing. My adeniums are looking very ordinary after all the rain, spider mite is driving me nuts . I have a lot of leafless plants. Ha could you share the website for the rare imports in WA please I would appreciate it ? thanks Maria

Oh yeah Peter your right they say they only send to Wa and Qld. But tweed heads is practically Queensland anyway.

Still NSW import laws it sucks when I spoke to the they said minimum of $200. To make it worth while for them to treat them. Agartta inquired for me to she nows them well they told her the same. To bigger risk to get caught and fine.

Well thanks Ben and Peter for all your help. I have a sister living in Toowoomba and I could use her address. I have been very thankful for all the help from Sandy and have brought some absolutely beautiful Adeniums from her in the past. Yes RareImports.com will send them all around Australia, if the order is $200 around 8 plants. They have to treat each individual plant to pass the quarantine inspection. Their plants are the best quality imported from Thailand, are well grafted and strong plants. RI sure looks after them well. If you order 8 plants, they are an investment, as they are not many blooms alike in Australia. It will be an opportunity to own quality grafted plants to graft, cuttings or selling in future and to know that your plants you bought will get to you safe.
