you could consider a simple orb for the dining area in silver or dark metal for the dining area then something as above for living area...

or something like this from Crate and Barrel for the living area as it only has a single bulb and you have the other table orbs for additional lighting.

Love the simple orb. I didn't even think of that. That sounds like the perfect tie in for the dining room!

Any thoughts on the following semi-flushmount for the living room?

And the following for above the kitchen table?

I would try to find s smaller scale (in terms of the width of the iron pieces) if you want to go matchy with the living room lights. If you get that up, it will look inexpensive... it looks very tiny. How large is it?

My thought was since you have the larger orbs with crystals for side tables, you might want a orb for dining as above so it's not in the same room, but adjacent. A bit matchy, but not in the same room as the end table lights. They make this a tad hard for choosing the living room light.... Is the living room off the kitchen or dining room... or is it all open?

I'm not fond of the light for the dining table... too heavy IMO... too farm looking.

I think your room would look a lot richer and nicer with lighter linen tone drapery.

Do you keep them pulled flat all the time?

Everything in the living space is very dark including the are rug. You might want to lighten them up to a neutral to brighten up the space... sorry, you didn't ask about that, but the curtains are so very dark for the room.

As for the chandelier in the living area... do you have plenty of light in the room as is or are you putting it up for needed light vs. decor?

I think you're right about the orb I found being too small. I love the orb you posted and the idea of having it in the dining room. I will need to find a different one because the price is too much for me but I love it for sure.

To answer your question the kitchen is off the dining room, on the right of it if you're looking at the table.

I did like the chandeliers you posted, my concern is that I don't have high ceilings so I am limited (or so I've read) on how low something can come down (?)

The side lamps give the perfect ambiance lighting and once I open the bay window curtains I have a good amount of lights so I'd say decor primarily.

Well, I'm sure you can find an orb very similar.....Ballard or Wayfair... just not chunky metal IMO..

I would start with replacing curtains and blinds with matching ones for both rooms and definitely not black, roman blinds would be perfect, then large chandelier for dining room and something simple for seating area , your table lamps are a feature already.

You want your light to be at roughly 36" above the table top from the bottom of the chandelier.... in a smaller space(not a very large chandelier) an inch or two lower is ok.... just FYI. As ppl get in to large chandeliers and higher ceilings they can go higher to some degree... in your case I say approx. 36" no more above the table.
