First of all Sue, I have my doubts that you do in fact have Minerva. I've never seen Minerva with a white picotee and such a thick white picotee at that. Samba comes to mind but Samba's petals are more rounded. There is another one similar to Samba but the name escapes me at the moment. As for why your second blooming is so drastically different, taking into account the time of year, the weather and possible stress on the bulb, I'll have to leave that to others.

Yes, I figured that the difference was just from temperature etc. I just thought it was interesting and wanted to share.

It's definitely not Samba; I have that one and it looks quite a bit different. This was a bulb-in-a-box kit last year and it was labeled Minerva, but of course these kits are notoriously prone to mislabeled bulbs. If anyone wants to hazard a guess on the real identity I'm open to suggestion. I'm also willing to label it a NOID if Minerva is way off base.

Difference is stress. Do a search of this forum for "stress" and you'll see some crazy examples!!
