it is not uncommon to lose leaves after transplant ...its a fucntion of all the roots you cut off ...

and it will recover.. when its ready.. whether that is next spring.. who knows ...

its really all about the recovery of the root mass cut off in transplanting.. and since we cant see the roots ..... we cant really guess ..

i have never understood the suggestion of cutting leaves off because you want to grow more leaves .. your not the first.. and you wont be the last .. just put down the the shears and step away ..

just water properly ... and let them take care of it all.. in shrub time... not our world of instant gratification ...

and try not to love them to death ...

yeah. that cracked me up too ....

annual time is all wrapped up in one year ... perennials... multiples of such ... and tree time can be centuries..

so i suppose here.. we would deal in shrub time ... and if you think about rejuvenation pruning on a 3 year cycle .... then .. well ... that might be shrub time ...

whatever it is.. it isnt usually instant gratification .. unless you have a really big wallet ....

Do you think, based on the picture, that they will at least put out some decent blooms next spring or does that type of thing get held up when they look this rough right now. I mean, I would hope the plants only get better in time and don't go backwards!
