I currently have 16 soon 17 trees. Most of them are from FW, one I know from Duarte, some from Citrustree nursery. None of them has a tag that would indicate the root stock, well, maybe one. The Kieffer lime had one huge shot and because it was winter when all trees are close together, I noticed only later when bringing them all out. It had huge more roundish leaves and really big spikes. Definitely not a trifoliate.

You bought trees without a nursery tag??? I would never recommend anyone do that

That's one of my complaints about FW; they're so secretive about their rootstocks.

johnmerr how would you know if you order it per mail? I did not know and I think not uncommon for hobby citrus grower.

Tom, did you see my post about my bouquet de fleurs from FW? I found a nursery tag buried when I reported it and the rootstock was c-35.

Does that mean all rootstock from FW is C35?

I have no idea. This is the only indicator I have ever found with a rootstock listed from them.

The roundish leaves with spikes sounds like Cuban shaddock rootstock.

Nursery from Duarte ca sounds like Durling nursery. Many of my trees are from them.

Laura, I did not, and that is very interesting! My tango that I purchased this spring did not have any rootstock/nursery tags on it, so maybe you just got lucky! It was certainly a variety of trifoliate however, as they had left some of the rootstock growth intact.

I'm wondering if it could be a Cunningham citrange too: http://ccpp.ucr.edu/admin/exportPDFEarlyOrder.php (says it's from FWG and is a rootstock)

PKG this particular tree was not from Duarte. I have only one from them and never seen a sucker coming up from the rootstock

I definately will allow some suckers to show a bit more and then take pictures. Maybe that will help with identification.
