Either match it exactly or do a fun color. I love Navy or a gray navy. I like the silver sage above also.

A contrasting color.

And make sure to clean and sand. Then prime or use chalk paint with a poly acrylic coating instead of wax or general finishes milk paint (which is actually acrylic paint)
