Thank you! Do you think if I water them more frequently the plants will come back? Should I try to tape the cracks or leave them alone? I also read something about removing the brown leaves since they are essentially dead/dying?

If your plants have wilt, they are dying. Look for pictures and information on the internet for tomato wilt.

There's no such thing as "wilt". There are various diseases that are wilts, such as fusarium wilt, verticillium wilt, bacterial wilt, etc.

However, these are soilborne diseases, and if growing tomatoes in containers in fresh potting mix, they are really unlikely.

LG, I don't know where you are, but in most places in the US in July, a container plant requires frequent watering once it gets big and has a large root system. Usually daily watering--sometimes more if you're somewhere very hot. Try to water consistently. And even if it rains, remember that a big plant with lots of foliage often directs the rain away from the container. So check moisture levels first before deciding you don't need to water because it rained.

Just leave them alone. The plant will be fine. Tomato stalks are very resilient. Contained vertical cracks like that will barely affect the plant's growth and production at all.

Yes, prune off the affected foliage. Necrotic plant tissue offers a foothold for fungal and bacterial disease organisms, so you want to remove it if possible.
