Beautiful room! Love the dark floor and the contrast with the rug. I would do something horizontal to mirror the buffet table. Like a large piece of canvas art.

And then put two tall plants on the side of the buffet for some greenery and color.

Add a large piece of Art on wall and make it the focal point to anchor a room. A large piece of Art can really bring in a wave of deftness and add more color and life to your room. It acts as a style to your room.

I do love a mirror above a sideboard, but would select a, "smoke in mirror" or antique d glass mirror. One that is large enough on it's own or a piece of art vertical on it's own. Some people feel they don't want to see themselves eating so they shy from the mirror. I personally do love a mirror to open the space up if it's not very large. I personally would not look in to the mirror and watch myself eat :) yet....

You'll want to place the piece approximately 6" from the top of the sideboard so you know the size that will fit.

I'd get your piece for the wall, then work on the decor for the top.

This size of your sideboard would dictate the size of the art or mirror as well as the height of your ceiling.
