Minimum height requirement from ceiling

Our ceilings are 8 foot - what is the the minimum height requirement from the ceiling for this range hood.?

    Hello Deborah,


    The important factor in the mounting height of a range hood will be the distance from the top of your stovetop. This height is what will determine the efficiency of your range hood.

    As you can see in the above image, your range hood will be the most efficient anywhere in between 28" - 36" above the top of your stove top. So in order to find out how low to come from your 8' ceiling, you must calculate how tall your stove top is and add 36" (for the minimum height, as you asked) then subtract from 96" (which is an 8' ceiling).


    An example would be, most stove tops are 36" in height, plus the 36" for the minimum height coming down from your ceiling. 36"+36"-96"=24". So most likely you will be coming down 24" from your ceiling. That is the minimum recommended height from your ceiling down.
