Washingtonia. Very fast grower. It tends to not do well in a pot once they get going because they are so rambunctious. I guess if you root prune it and add fresh soils..it could be a longer term pot plant.

This is the soil I used, however I'm regretting my decision to move it. It's already droopy, the fans closed and feel soft. I love in central California, Summers are dry and hot.

What should I have potted it in? I'm a novice plant person. I've been learning a lot about Sago palms which seem difficult to kill. This palm send to have a different tempered than a sago. Did I do more harm?

MIGHT be fine... soil is fine, but these do NOT like to be moved about at this age, and often die as a result. Hope this does not happen to yours

I wouldn't have moved it, however it took root in a bed place. Underneath a boxwood bush with no room to grow. Hopefully it does not die. We'll see.
