Oooh, you are so close!! I'm excited too! My first blooms will hopefully open soon as well but they sure take their sweet time. I lost some to mites in the spring, and every once in a while a bud turns brown for seemingly no reason. But went from rain every day to suddenly a week+ of nothing but sun and heat. Looking forward to seeing photos as they bloom. Keep it up!

Yes, really excited, I'm hoping that first one will finish opening up once it warms up and the sun hits it. It's only 56° currently. It's been in the low 60°s (mornings).

Wow. It'll be a long time before we get temps that low again. I'm lucky if hits the high seventies for a low at night. Currently 90's by day, but we haven't hit any 100's yet so I can't complain.

Well here she is, almost completely opened.

pretty close resemblance if you ask me.

It is exciting! I can't wait for the other 3 to open! I feel rewarded finally after all these months of tending to them.

just think, you could give it a haircut after it blooms and practice some grafting ...

    Eeyore, congrats! Nice color :)

No grafting for me. I have a hard enough time keeping them alive.

I -almost- have a first flower open myself, but not quite! Joy Rich has a big bud and hopefully it'll only be another couple of days!

Alma, gorgeous and by far better color than the one in SP photo.

Good for you and your growing.

Well that second flower bud behind the opened flower is going to drop! It looked so pretty and healthy and today I got home and it welted!

Hyn patty, you will have to share your flower when it blooms!

I will. Joy Rich is supposed to be super lovely red and yellow double/triple so I'm eager to see it myself. First flowers though may not be too impressive so we'll see.

Here's a second plant to bloom

    Siam santa

Pink is beautiful and sexy lol

Lol, Peter. I'm not so sure I'd consider that a pink. It has little and I'm okay with that. It's that light pink that has nothing to it that I don't like.

Beautiful blooms, Alma! And they look just as advertised! BONUS!

Peter, I'm so sorry yours dropped it's buds. That happened to me last year. It's very discouraging! I do have one pink one with white edging that I've had for 4 years(never seen it flower ). It develop one big flower bud but dropped it(last year). It developed late summer so my morning temps were starting to get iffy. So I put it under lights and we'll I think that was too much change. And I think the same thing is going to happen with that one(late bloomer). No buds on it yet.

well here's my golden carrot . Not really pleased with color. Suppose to be a reddish orange. and it's PINK! Not my favorite
more flowers on my Siam santa

All of the oranges are highly variable from what I have seen because you are blending red or pink over yellow. I like your Carrot Top but wait and see how it continues to bloom. I rather suspect the more sunlight it gets the more red-oranges you'll get as the flowers age, but they may start out more yellow. I like it.
