Sherwin-Williams' website offers that nice feature, tho I've never used it. When you use it, look at these colors: Krypton SW6247 and Samovar Silver SW 6233.

Once you think you've found the right color (or 2 or 3), buy sample jugs of those colors, plus poster board and paint 2 coats of each color onto a separate poster board. Then you can use masking tape to tape the samples to the walls in various locations. Look at them in daylight, with and without the kitchen lights on and then at night also, with the lights on. If the green walls are influencing your decision too much, take a door off one of the cabinets and carry it to another room in the house which has light from the same direction, but which is painted a more neutral color.

The color of the counters is going to be a big issue in terms of selecting a paint color.

The counters are greyish with some darker flecks (more towards the black family, reminds me a little of the color of cement) ... I do not like the black crown trim. I may just remove that if I can. I like that light fixture.. where did that come from?... Thank you for suggestions... Any others are welcome too!!

When you're playing around with the visualizer at the Sherwin-William website, consider also looking at white walls, painted SW 7008 Alabaster.

I like the dark crown molding on top of the cabinets. I would play around with adding a darker bold color with your more neutral color on the rest of the walls. A bold pop of color might be very nice. I also think all the white cabinets are going to be short-lived and it's a fad think twice before painting those lovely wood cabinets.

Paint sample boards are necessary to ensure you assess colors with your light conditions. Even with white or off white colors. Your oak cabinets and flooring will also impact any color by reflecting their orange tones to the walls. Colors that don't tone down your oak will all go gold and yellow on you. Improved lighting and some colorful rugs can help. I don't recommend removing the trim at top of your cabinets. Paint it if you wish otherwise your cabinets will look very unfinished and generic. I will post some photos to give you inspiration on your kitchen.

While some light blue colors may not be the "in" thing right now, choose what YOU like, not what someone tells you you should do. That said, the experts above are 100% right in telling you that sample boards are the way to go before you commit. Colors look different throughout the day and in different parts of a room.

The current color in your kitchen is sucking all the light from the space, so here are some ideas to change that.

Here is a soft beige something like SW Accessible Beige, but key here is all the white wainscoting. I would add white subway tile backsplash and perhaps white wainscoting to the breakfast area and do it all in highly reflective white. then do either the like beige (not yellow, but beige) where there is paint. I would try to paint the black trim the same color as you cabinets to kind of make that detail disappear.

If you still want color, go with a more blue green color rather than the yellow green that is currently in the room. Lighting is a big factor in this kitchen so adding better lighting is a must for your enclosed kitchen. There appears to be a black painted area under the island where stools are and that could be painted white as well and add white stools.

What type/style of furniture do you plan for your home and in the breakfast area? Take from that style and try to modify elements in the kitchen toward that style where you can.

If you can change the countertop on the island and paint the island that could be a great help as well. The island color would of course, need to coordinate with whatever paint color you select and the countertop on the island could be white with perhaps some beige and gray veining, depending again on colors for the wall you select.

Why not try looking into white colors as well? If might help brighten up your kitchen.
