Room decor?

We want to paint the walls an orange color but I don't know how I will decorate it. I want to make our room like a getaway. Any suggestions on decor?

IMO orange is not a color that is restful which I think a bedroom should be.

With right paint blends: what about a ceiling treatment that has pewter metallic? and greys and your orange accessory.

Throwing out ideas - leave paint and add color on windows [might be like bedding enough].... pillows suzani, or other pattern with burnt orange-red....

You need to provide more information about your bedroom furniture--color, style, etc. Can you show us pictures of your furniture? Orange is best used sparingly, especially in a bedroom.

Here's a room that uses it well--creamy walls with a creamy not too garish orange accent wall that sets off the bed, and a sophisticated orange print bedspread. Everything else should be in neutral colors--rug, lamps, curtains, etc. Orange is a color that screams out, so you need to tone the rest down.

Here's one I don't care for that kicks up the orange a lot, but maybe this is what you have in mind:

May I suggest that if you want help from the professionals on Houzz--I'm not one of them--that youconsider their advice before shooting it down? If you already have such strong opinions, then you don't need the advice offered. Tell us what limitations you have regarding budget, furniture you absolutely need to keep, etc. etc.

I notice the photos are from Zillow. Are these your furnishings and bedding?

Orange will make the wood on your bed look even oranger....would you like teal or light green for the walls?

I love the idea of doing teal instead. I'm open for suggestions on color and other things. The bed and dresses are a light colored wood. I don't have better pictures right now though

Oh... so that furniture isn't yours? Wouldn't a getaway have a particular vibe - which getaway were you "going to"?! decide on a location and tell us hmm?
