hooked up a 2nd comcast tuner to new tv.

hdmi works.

hdmi on tivo is not working.

darn comcast is charging $10/mo for cable card. or $6 for dta. it used to be FREE. they said it was mentioned in my last 13 page bill. they say cable card has full functionality vs dta. except for pay per view or on demand. so in fact it has very little more to offer than dta. sob.

i did not realize i have 2 coax feeds to the family room from the service panel area. i dont recall putting in 2 cables. so, i am back feeding the tuner output in the family room back to the splitter area and than splice into the line feeding the kitchen so i can control 2 tvs with 1 tuner. i know lots of folks do it. now i need an IR blaster so the kitchen remote can make the family room tuner work. its about 25ft away. the dining room is between the 2 areas and its on the lower level. we dont use family room tv anymore. since we put a new tv in the living room off the kitchen area.
