I'd go for elegant opulence! A dark green velvet bench or loveseat for the foot of the bed. Chandeliers hanging above the end tables with maybe mirrors behind and luxurious bedding. I'd lose the curtains and keep the blinds. Do you want to keep the rug? If not, I'd go for luxurious pile shag in creamy white. I'm not loving the pattern rug with the blinds.

Thank you so much for your comments. We have the blinds and curtains from the previous owner, they are very restricting though. I could get rid of the roman shades and replace them with new fabric ones- we are not getting a TV though.

We have only one night stand, is there a need to get another one?

You can get a much lighter "retreat like" space if you do - but there is a lot you can do with current wall color

I would get a second nightstand but it doesn't need to match. You could do something like a round table with just room for a lamp and a decorative object. If anything, I would keep the roman shades and get rid of the curtains. If you can get rid of both though, I would. Do you know the color on the walls? It almost looks like a deep bronze. Are you keeping the rug?

This is a bit masculine but is rich and glam. Could you remove the window treatments and photo the space again?

Love all the ideas- I am getting tempted to get rid of the window treatment and maybe get some nice heavy silk curtains to block the sun rays(our house is east facing and we live in Texas) but what sort of treatment will I have to get on the door? I don't want to paint the walls, I actually like the dark color- gives it a nice warmth to it- I think the color is a creamy dark grey. I could get rid of the rug- it is a shag rug but maybe if I get new window treatment I won't have to?

You could do a drape with a blackout lining. There are rods that are long enough to span both windows and the door. You'd need several panels to be full enough but if you between the sunburst window and the top of the door molding all the way across, you can cover the whole thing with the same panels.
