More July blooms...

Nasty weather approaching and expected to stay for the whole of next week so one last round of photos before the blooms get ruined...

Prince Jardinier (aka Francis Meilland)

It's a challenge to grow hybrid teas in my climate but this one does reasonably well with a bit of winter protection. Great fragrance and usually stays very healthy.

Maid Marion

This is probably my most disease resistant Austin. It is particularly resistant to powdery mildew.

Rainbows4children

New introduction from Massad, France (named after a foundation providing education for children in Ethiopia). Vigourous and floriferous. Citrus fragrance.

Somme 2016

Another new Massad rose. Supposed to be very fragrant and very disease resistant but I can't detect much scent from this first flower to open and mildew has been a big problem so far.

Laurent Voulzy

New Guillot "Generosa" rose. I got this hoping it to be a worthy replacement for Rosette Delizy, which usually balls in my climate but this has been another mildew victim. Hopefully it will get better. Really like the flowers and the fruity acidulous fragrance.

Pretty Flamingo

Hybridizer John Scarman calls this "The perfect climber". In my climate it isn't likely to be a climber but hopefully it will become a healthy shrub. Deer ate all the buds last year and this is the first time it flowers.

Clara's Choice

Another Scarman rose and I included this in an earlier photo thread as well, but here it is with fully open flowers.

Diablesse de Mers

Flowering well this year.

Maxime Corbon

Surprisingly winter hardy french rambler with small, fragrant flowers.

Emilien Guillot

When someone asks for orange roses, I always think of this one first.
