is there an island that these will be over?

I'd keep it about the same as if they are over an island. Naturally, they will need to be small in scale if it's a wall opening as I understand it.

We're doing an opening similar to the image below - only 110" wide - with a 6" drop to a cabinet on the other side similar to this image below as well. The lights will hang from the kitchen ceiling through the opening, not from the molding of the opening. And I am not putting lights on the living room wall like this image shows.

I'm not positive, but they're standard, which is 8 or 9 feet? It's a 1949 Florida ranch. No soaring ceilings for me unfortunately! :-)

The ceiling height is very important as mentioned above in order to get the right pendant length. One foot makes a difference if you select down rods and small lights.

Is there an island? I think that's 'the photo of the mid tone brown photo posted? The size of your island both length and width also is a big factor as is ceiling hight.

Is it possible to take a photo of the actual space you want the pendants to hang??

yes, still never heard if there is an island, and with 9ft ceilings and a pass through that can get crowded, if that is what it is.......picture?

I use three 12" pendants on my 9' island. It's a pleasing design that could apply here. If you do bigger lights, consider using only two. Do you have an idea of what kind of lights you'd want? I like a fixture that is not opaque since you'll want visibility from the pass-through into the kitchen and vice versa. Clear glass and open cage styles would work great. Good luck!

Thanks everyone - I do think I'm leaning toward clear glass pendants with Edison bulbs. The distance between them is my main concern and the chart from Porter Edun was really helpful. I'm confident we can figure out the best length when we hang them. Work starts next week and should take 4 weeks. I'll post photos!
