I think you can get away with a different color in the kitchen and in your dining room. You cut the tops off the pic so I can't get an idea of how the ceilings flow from room to room.

my concern is your blue green choice. the kitchen has a cherry color stain and a very warm/golden granite and your warm beige floor tile. not really digging the blue/green option with those. Do you plan on making any changes there? you said grayish hardwood? w/the gold countertops and cherry-ish stain on cabs?? you better make sure that's going to work in there. If not, I'd either replace or paint those cabinets to white.

for the kitchen I'd keep it a nice neutral so you're not fighting w/the cabs/countertops.

Yes, we do plan on remodeling the kitchen, and painting cabinets white. The floors are not going to stay. We're about a week out from getting keys so I can't get better photos. I appreciate your help. Thank you!
