Black windows will show dirt. It could also increase temp in the house. I've lived in, TX, NM, CA and KS and wouldn't have black windows due to the heat.

Before choosing a roof color, do some research into the heating impacts of a black roof. Depending on where you live and the amount of shade, dark colored roofs can increase cooling costs. My mom noticed a different when she switched from a brown to dark gray roof.

I think black windows will look great with the white but I have reservations on the black roof idea. I had a very dark, almost black , roof installed on my garage (detached from the house). last year, I can't believe how much hotter the garage is now, not just a few degrees, I would say easily 10-20 degrees .

K Laurence - We're building in rural NC, about 25 minutes north of Durham. We're surrounded by trees, so I don't think heat will be a problem, but I could be wrong.

White siding, black windows, grey roof. Were you planning to use the same color window frames inside the house? Most manufacturers allow for a different color on the interior and the exterior. We have black outside, white inside. Good luck with your new home.

I live in NC - Charlotte. With our heat I would definitely recommend gray roof over black. I LOVE the contrast of black windows and white exterior. To me that is a classic look that happens to be on trend at the moment.

Dont use Black! Im noticing that all the luxury new home construction in the luxury home market are using White interior. They research and know what they are doing for resale.
