Wonderful, healthy plants!

I have Frisian Waving Steel, Rainforest and Mourning Dove and they are all favorites. Beautiful plants with nice thick leaves.

Lovely rich coloring! And a great combo!

How do you overwinter them?

lindalana, they stay outside in winter, I put them behind the house and under a hedge to give them a little protection from the weather that mostly comes from the west and in spring I watch out for water standing on frozen pots, but that is all. Winter in Germany is not that cold and hard, -20°C happens, but not often and only for a few days and we seldom have snow for more than 2 weeks...

I tried to find this cv in the HL and couldn't. I did however find a Rain Forest by Randy Goodwin which looks to be what yours is, so it's not 'Rainforest' but 'Rain Forest' and yes, you can call me picky/pedantic but with close to 10.000 hosta cultivars there is a need to use the correct spelling/nomenclature particularly when the plant is registered, like this one is. I fully recognize there are ample examples of plant tags with incorrect spelling but that doesn't make it right.

It's a lovely plant BTW, I'm a sucker for wavy leaves and glossy leaves, wish I could buy it here, thanks for posting the picture...

Hi Pieter,

it is ok for me that you are picky about the names. With so many cultivars out there it must be hard to follow everything up. I remember when I bought the first hostas that I read about being around 4.000 different being available and that was not so many years ago.

I meanwhile checked the background of the plant and found out about the correct spelling. I'm just making an inventory of my plants and picture taking and writing infos in a file is part of it. Sometimes it is not easy to find out all that I want to know, but mostly the HL is of great help.

This one was quite unnoticed in the garden and when I took it out to take pics I noted that it has become a real beauty :-)

So please correct me whenever necessary, it is good for my own small library and I appreciate your comments.
