Sofa Fabric Durability

Hi! I'm deciding between 2 different sofa fabrics. One is 71% polypropylene and 29% polyester, and the other is 72% polyester and 28% acrylic. I asked about the double rubbing numbers and was only provided information that they are both Medium/Heavy in durability. The one that is 71% polypropylene is a little thicker than the other one. I like them both, but I don't know a lot about fiber content. Without having the exact double rubbing numbers, does anyone have any feedback in relation to the fiber content? I know they are both likely quite durable. The one that is 72% polyester I really like, it has a nice sheen and is one grade higher than the other. They are both light beige fabrics.

The sofa use will be light-medium. Thank you very much for your help.

Run from polypropylene. It will hold soil/dust like a magnet. Just as it does in carpeting. It absorbs oil,..... read bare feet, bare arms, bare legs, dogs and kitties. Run is my advice.

Thank you. I did some reading and I didn't see any info like that on polypropylene. I actually like the one better that is a polyester/acrylic..so I guess that helps confirm my direction. I appreciate your help.

I was looking at Slumberland Furniture. I do not have a high price point. Is the polypropylene still bad even if it's only 71%, with a mix of 29% polyester? Thank you.

Double rubs….let’s say it is 15,000. Are you going to get up and down on that sofa 15,000 times? I am going to guess “no”. So, 15,000 rubs is fine.

What you are looking for is a great fabric which will hold up over time. Sunbrella, Crypton and my favorite, UltraSuede (trademark). Not micro suede.

Also, look into Kashmira fabric on Flexsteel. furniture Can’t beat it.
