Folks, I'm struggling to remember who is who in some of our threads. Could you just quickly post your real name? I'm going to update list I started back around 2007. This helps me to decipher conversations here.

My name: George, Tahlequah Oklahoma

I tried to edit my original post, just to answer Laura. But for some reason it doesn't give me that option today. I thought I'd explain that "macmex" is derived from two things: first, my family nickname. Many McLaughlins are nicknamed "Mr., Mrs., Grandma or Grandpa "Mac." The second part comes from the fact that we lived and raised our family in Central Mexico (1988-2001) Mexico, its people, language and culture became an important and lasting part of our lives. Hence "mex."

Okay, y'all, we all said our names and most stated their locations if they weren't obvious via their screen names. The fact remains that every single one of us should have said: "Hi, my name is _______ and I am a gardening addict." Am I right? lol

  • authereray

Hi, my name is Auther Ray and I am a gardening addict, and have been for most of my life. I like to look at other people's gardens as I drive along the roads and the streets in town. I can not help myself.

    Hi everyone, and welcome.

Tom, I love your neck of the woods. I lived in that area for 16 years; up north in Madison County (Madison/Monrovia, and further north in Lincoln County, TN) and down south in Baldwin County (Point Clear). Alabama is a lovely state, and I miss it so much.

Hi. My name is Lynda and I live near Ada, OK. I'm also addicted to gardening and like Auther Ray, I love to look at other folks' gardens while driving along. I can't understand why there isn't a garden of some sort behind every house I pass!

Lynda, I always do the same thing and think the same thing. I know my husband must get tired of hearing me say "with all this space everyone has out here in the country, I don't understand why everyone doesn't have a garden". And, when we are going somewhere, it isn't like we have a lot of routes out here in the sticks, but if there is an alternate route and I know someone who has a garden on one of those roads, I'll say "let's go the back way so I can see how David's (or whoever's) garden is doing now". I'm not nosey about people's lives, their homes or their vehicles or whatever....but I love looking at their gardens as we drive by.

    Lisa, Hi!
