I'm growing corn in containers and hand pollinating since the plot area (4 containers x 4 stalks in each) is small. I can't tell when there has been enough pollination so I just keep doing it as long as pollen is available.

Is there a way to know if an ear of corn has had enough pollen...does the silk change color, or become less sticky? Is there some other marker?
